A driver who dangerously swerved around other cars and almost crashed
into a tractor escaped justice because the clock on the dash cam that captured the incident was not properly set.
The shocking footage was captured by Tony Seva on September 27 as he was driving on the busy A11 dual carriageway in Norfolk.
The footage clearly shows a blue Ford Focus behaving recklessly, cutting in from the
left, narrowly missing a slow-moving tractor and then nearly colliding with the central reservation.
Mr Seva said he was driving at more than 50mph and the Ford Focus driver "came out of nowhere" at a much quicker speed.
The incident was reported to police but an incorrect time stamp on the footage meant that officers were unable to prosecute the driver. Norfolk police did however have "very strong word" with the driver in question.
Chief Inspector Chris Spinks emphasized that dashboard cameras were "vital" in investigating incidents on the road.

Two in Five 'Considering a Dash Cam'
Road Vision |
According to new research from the RAC, TWO IN five UK drivers are thinking about installing a dashboard camera.
The RAC's research shows that 71% of the more than 1,600 drivers it polled believe that introducing in-car cameras would help to cut fraudulent car insurance claims. 39% said they were thinking about installing a dash-cam, just 4% of drivers actually have one at the moment.
Of that 4%, almost three in five (59%) said the main reason they installed it was to record what happened in the event of an accident, with 21% specifically wanting to protect themselves against crash-for-cash scams.
The RAC quotes statistics from the Association of British Insurers describing a 34% increase in bogus car insurance claims in 2013.
The company's head of external affairs, Pete Williams, said: “Accident cameras or in-car cameras are commonplace in some countries where unscrupulous driving practices are a more regular occurrence.
“With ‘crash-for-cash’ crimes unfortunately becoming more prevalent on UK roads, motorists are looking to in-car cameras to protect themselves from being taken advantage of.”
Elsewhere in the study, 72% of respondents said they would consider installing a dash-cam if it brought them lower insurance premiums, and 70% said they thought an increased number of dash-cam installations would reduce fraud.

Illegal U-turn Caught on Dash Cam - Karma Followed Swiftly
Whether you believe in karma or not, there are
definitely times when it seems to be served quicker than others. For one
driver, there was no time like the present after he committed an illegal U-Turn.
The footage was taken in Queensland, Australia. An unnamed motorist is caught on camera performing an illegal U-turn in the Gold Coast area
There's usually a reason why a U-turn is made illegal, so it's
reassuring to see the car that had to slam on the brakes hard to avert a
crash was unmarked police car, no less.

Every drivers worst nightmare ending up with a kid on their car bonet. Firstly thank goodness the child was ok, secondly thank goodness this driver had a dash cam to prove that he wasnt speeding round the caravan park had things not turned out so great
A Child riding a bike in a Caravan park flies around a blind corner into the bonnet of a vehicle with a dash camera. I certainly think that that child has learnt a valuable lesson about blind corners and
about sticking to the left side of the road.
