Audi Driver Road Rage Caught on Dashcam

I couldn't even believe what I was seeing to be honest, has he not watched frozen "Let It Go!" at least if it had escalated further the driver of the van (I am assuming this because of the "background noise") would have had the proof he needed about how aggressive the Audi driver was.

Police In Call For Public Dashcam Help

Police forces in England have appealed to motorists who have in-car cameras ( aka dashcams )to help them spot and prosecute criminals.

Senior officers have said the cameras may help catch offenders in specific situations where the police themselves are not present.

Motorists buy dashcams to record whether any accident that occurs to the vehicle is the fault of its driver, or someone else. Motor insurance firms tend to offer lower premiums to drivers who have them. They can be useful in insurance and court claims. However, they can also provide extra eyes on the road for the benefit of traffic officers.

Norwich resident Tony Sutton told the Norwich Evening News he has seen several incidents on his dashcam and supports the idea of the police making use of such footage.

Commenting: "We know the police cannot be everywhere," he noted that dashcams provide invaluable evidence like date and time stamps and also GPS readings on car speeds, which can then help prove if other motorists are going too fast. As a result, they can assist in securing convictions in court.

Use Your Mirrors - Dashcam Recording

Thank goodness that the driver of this car had a dash cam.  We hope that the driver reversing in this case admitted fault, without the guy with the dash cam having to point out that the event and "whose fault it was" was recorded.  However some unscrupulous people would try to shift the blame in this situation that could leave you at risk if you don't have a dash cam

ITN want your Dashcam Footage for TV Show

Have you filmed a crash, scrape or near miss? ITV Wants your footage
For a brand new primetime show about UK road crashes, near misses, scrapes and escapes, ITV are looking for footage filmed on dash cams and helmet cams by road users across the country.

As well as featuring the clips themselves, we are looking to tell the stories behind some of these clips, and speak to those involved.

Please get in touch if you have a clip you think we could use in the show. We'd also like to know if you might be interested in appearing on camera to talk through your experiences.

We are looking to make films that are more thoughtful than just the standard clip/voiceover routine, and it's for this exact reason that we're reaching out to you - to get real stories and experiences of actual road users, that really give people a true sense of the dangers of the road.

Our films will be led by the characters that will talk to us, and the footage.

Please get in touch and contact us at caughtoncamera@itn.co.uk - we look forward to hearing from you.

Dash Cam Prevented Insurance Fraud

So we came across this fantastic example  today of an instance that clearly demonstrates why you need a dash cam.

You can clearly see that the driver of the car with the dash cam stops with plenty of distance in front of him while he waits for the car in front to make a turn.  He is then shunted on by the car behind him in to the turning vehicle.

The dash cam then clearly records the discussion and although we cant hear the sound in this instance it is more than obvious that driver 1 and 3's versions of events differ, but the driver in the middle is able to say ive got a dash cam recording everything
